About
We are a local body of baptized believers who have been brought together by our faith in Jesus Christ for the purpose of evangelizing locally and globally. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we go with the gospel, baptize believers, establish them in the faith through discipleship, and start local independent Baptist churches.
Christ, our great example, spoke the truth in love, obeyed God’s Word, and taught us how to reverently worship the Father. The members of Gateway Baptist Church strive to be like Christ. This is a work that God is continuing in each of us as we learn to die to self, resist the devil, and be obedient unto God.
Our Heritage
OUR FAITH IS A TREASURED HERITAGE, NOT A CONTEMPORARY EXPERIMENT
God has been faithful and now for over 100 years, Gateway Baptist Church has been reaching people with the gospel of Christ and teaching others God's Word. Our hearts are full of gratitude to the Lord for sustaining us this far and trust He is still advancing.
Our Location
EMBRACING OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE LOVE OF CHRIST
God has divinely placed us in the New River Valley just outside the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountians. Virginia Tech University is just up the road where tens of thousands of students come to our area each year. Please pray that God would use us to proclaim there is hope in Christ to our communnity.
